About Piso Livadi

When to Visit

  • The Sweet Spot (June & September): This is the ideal time. The weather is warm (around 25–28°C), the sea is perfect for swimming, and the village is lively but never crowded.

  • Peak Summer (July & August): Expect higher temperatures and more people. This is also when the Meltemi (strong northern winds) blows; however, Piso Livadi’s harbor is relatively sheltered, making it a safe haven.

  • Quiet & Cultural (May & October): Perfect for hikers and those seeking solitude. Note that some beach bars and boat excursions may have limited schedules.

🏖️ The Best Beaches

Piso Livadi is a fantastic base because it is surrounded by some of the island's most diverse beaches:

  • Piso Livadi Beach: A small, sandy, and very shallow beach right in the village. It’s ideal for a quick dip or for parents with toddlers.

  • Logaras Beach: Just a 5-minute walk south. It’s a Blue Flag sandy beach with crystal-clear water and plenty of tamarisk trees for natural shade.

  • Kalogeros Beach: A 10-minute drive away, famous for its natural clay mud. Visitors scrape the clay from the rocks, mix it with seawater for a DIY spa treatment, and rinse off in the sea.

  • Golden Beach (Chrissi Akti): About 10 minutes south, this is a world-renowned spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing, featuring a long stretch of shimmering sand.

  • Molos Beach: A large, unorganized, and protected beach nearby that remains quiet even in August—perfect for those who want to escape the "beach club" vibe.

🍽️ Where to Eat & Drink

Piso Livadi is arguably the best "foodie" village on the island for traditional yet elevated seafood.

  • Halaris: A legendary fish tavern. It’s famous for its "daily catch" and modern twists on Greek classics. Try the shrimp pasta or the grilled tuna.

  • Markakis: Located right on the waterfront, this spot offers a more sophisticated dining experience. Their beetroot garlic sauce and fresh salads are standout choices.

  • Gialos: A newer favorite known for using local produce from its own garden. Their grilled squid is highly recommended.

  • Brazil & Remezzo: For drinks, head to these waterfront cafes/bars. They offer a relaxed atmosphere for a sunset cocktail or a late-night souma (the local Parian spirit).

⛵ Activities & Things to Do

  • Island Hopping Tours: Piso Livadi’s harbor is a major departure point. You can take day cruises to Santorini, Naxos, Koufonisia, and the Blue Lagoon of Antiparos.

  • Water Sports: Head to nearby Golden Beach for world-class windsurfing or diving lessons.

  • Visit the "Little Church": Walk up to the small chapel of Agios Nikolaos overlooking the harbor for the best sunset photos.

  • Explore Marpissa: Take a 15-minute walk inland to the traditional village of Marpissa, one of the most beautiful and "Instagrammable" villages in the Cyclades.
